Now, look at this:
That’s “Paul Mounet”, a french actor, who “died” in 1922.
His body never was found.
Then, look at this:
An unknown man, painted in 1530 by Parmigianino.
Compare them:
i believe.

=> Looking at how thin (unhealthy thin) many of “his” athletes were/still are, I can imagien it is right what Janne wrote in his book (I read it).
On the other hand, as an outside party and just knowing one version of this “story”, I personally will not really judge.Ok, to be honest I didn’t know about the book, but now I’m really curious to read it and get my own view of that stuff. But after my exams -.-
Hehe, now I see that it depends on the book you read… Hmm, funny stuff. Finnish ski jumpers doesn’t like him, it’s obvious (but I don’t believe he was like that because I’ve read some books and articles about Kojonkoski). But Norwegians? Well, they are good liars in this case… If he did it to the norwegian ski jumpers he wouldn’t like him so much, wouldn’t enjoy his company and support. And his farewell wouldn’t be so amazing. Mika is that person who made a Norwegian Team as strong as is now. Sigurt or Bjoern, they all said that it’s not true that he forced him to clem. If he did, they are a excellent liars. REALLY excellent. I don’t know if Janne is right or wrong, I don’t know also if Mika is right. Everybody lies. But I think it’s not clears situations. Some books can lie, but why exactly Janne is right?
It’s not just Janne who said that, though. I read his book and there are a couple of pages in the book where he lets Ville Kantee talk about all the issues he had with food while he was a jumper (and Ville had some really, really bad problems, if I remember correctly).
Or the thing about ripping food out of the hands of ski jumpers is referring to Matti Hautamäki, I think. According to Janne’s book Matti was feeling so weak from hunger that he wasn’t sure if he could stand up without fainting after some press conference or something during the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. So somebody brought him a donut or whatever to eat and just as he was about to bite into it, Mika Kojonkoski suddenly appeared and practically ripped it out of his mouth. I still remember that very clearly because I was so shocked when reading that.
Wow, weird thing… I don’t know what he was doing with Finnish but I’m not sure that he was doing the same thing with Norwegians… I wish I could know the truth.
Yeah, the Norwegians don’t really like to talk about that whole topic. But I just did some google-ing and I did find an article about former Norwegian Skijumper Daniel Forfang saying he quit skijumping because of the extreme pressure to be thin and that he just couldn’t do it anymore (here, if anyone’s interested: http://www.nordlys.no/nyheter/article2263088.ece - I just used google translator and it was easily understandable).
I’m sad now. I actually remember when he still jumped and I even have his autograph. Now I know what happened to him :/
Well… pressure comes not only from Mika himself, I think. Johan also quit because of this. But now Mika is not their trainer.
True, but Johan also actually said he quit because his body just wasn’t working anymore (which probably is a result of years of inadequate nutrition if what the Finns and Daniel Forfang are claiming is true).
I don’t know, I’ve been a fan of skijumping since I was a little kid (I remember when he was still the trainer of the Austrians lol), but I’ve always been very suspicious of Mika Kojonkoski. I just don’t like/trust the guy.
I also remember those days. But I’ve been always admiring him. He had some problems because ski jumpers was rather likely to listening to Horgacher, not him xD. I don’t want to judge anyone but I can’t believe that whole succes of Norwegian Team was because of this drill… I don’t if I’m right but I’m sure that Mika is not only one person who was putting pressure on ski jumpers. He had a lot of people “above” him.
Yeah, that’s (unfortunately) very possible.
